Many web based file storage services, like Google Drive, offer APIs for programmatically managing your files. These APIs allow developers to augment a service like Google Drive with APIs from other vendors. With the ever increasing threat of ransomware and security breaches, you can never be too careful when it comes to safeguarding your data. That's why FireEye has created an open source example application to demonstrate how Detection on Demand can be used to secure file hosting services like Google Drive from malicious files. This application is fully functional out of the box, but you are free to copy and modify it to fit your needs.
You can download the Python3 example app at https://github.com/fireeye/dod-example-apps/tree/master/google_drive. Please see the README for setup instructions and information on running it.
